Network Cost Optimization via Health Assessment: The USPs (or Goals) of This Initiative

In this communique, we expand on the goals of this initiative, which are many-fold (In the last communique, we had discussed the rationale behind the initiative as a whole.)

i) Allow the carrier eco-system players (operators, carriers, service providers, MSOs, plus the system vendors, software vendors, integrators, test houses, etc.) to discover, understand, debate, and adopt solutions, techniques, and best-practices to operational and business problems that operators/carriers are having.

ii) Serve as an informational resource, that’s not sponsored by a company, so we can speak the truth about (discuss freely and fairly) any company’s products or service.

iii) Be a forum that combines business and technology components, unifying the business aspects with the technology choices that affect carrier operations.

iv) Taking the idea of live Panels, such as those as may be held at anchor industry events, and bringing them to a collaborative, discussion-based, real-time/on-line format, which allows for the different players to engage in relevant discussion.  This format allows for real-time Q+A, recorded listening and posting questions later – thus, allowing for a global community to participate, benefiting from their collective wisdom and enriched by their sharing of their experiences (from operators and eco-system players in North America (e.g. USA, Canada, Mexico) to Europe (e.g. France, Germany, UK, Poland, Greece, Slovakia, and so on), Russia, Africa (e.g. Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt), to those in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, on to Pakistan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Australia, Argentina and Brazil). Plus, on-going discussion with peers from the industry, which allows for the conversation to continue beyond anything that is possible in an individual Panel, article, or blog post.

v) This format also allows the flexibility to continue discussing different aspects of a topic in varying levels of depth, based on interest from the eco-system community — and allows us to involve different panelists/participants, drawn from the community, thus bringing a wide diversity of perspectives into the mix!

The goal, at the end of the day, is to enable operators to run a more efficient operation, which, in turn, means the whole eco-system is strengthened, making our entire industry more vibrant!

Of course, for that it is important to define what we mean by network health assessment, which is partially done in this extract from India Telco Summit 2011.

What do you think? Do you have some thoughts or suggestions on how we could structure this better?  Then let us hear them! Just put in your comment(s) using the box below.
